Dunvilles is the famous old brand that was once made in Belfast's Royal Irish Distillery. Sadly the distillery was one of many to falter in the mid-1900s and it looked as if Dunvilles had disappeared permanently. Fortunately it has been resurected by the Echlinville Distillery who are the proud owners of this historical whiskey and a number of other brands. This award winning single malt is aged for 10 years and finished in top quality Pedro Ximenez sweet sherry casks.

Bottled at 46% without chill-filtration. 

Nose: Apricots, grapefruit and toasted almonds open up to fresh green cooking apples. Warming to apple tarte tatin, lightly spiced calvados caramel creme and dark fruit compote.

Palate: Fresh green apples, fruit sorbet, soft orchard fruit salad. Raising, figs and stewed dates from the PX sherry cask influence. A base of sweet malt, marzipan sponge cake and a splendid Dunville’s candied orange grace note.
Finish: Clean malt interspersed with vanilla panna cotta, dried tropical fruits, clove, oak spice and an lingering PX sherry note.
