Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Heredad

Country: Spain Region: Penedes

Varietal: Macabeo & Parellada

Colour: White Style: Sparkling

Producer: Segura Viudas

Description:

Located outside Barcelona, Spain, Heredad Segura Viudas is an iconic boutique winery, quietly basking in the sunny vineyards of the ancient wine region of Penedès. The origins of the Heredad have been traced back to the 11th century- the time of the Iberian Crusades -La Reconquista.

Segura Viudas produces artisanal cava wines using the ‘traditional method’ process. The double fermentation process has been used for centuries to make sparkling wines, producing the highest quality wines with multiple layers of complexity, fruit and more refined bubbles.

The Brut Reserva Heredad is made exclusively with wines from the best vintages of the Macabeo and Parellada varieties. Its high percentage of Macabeo allows it to preserve its youth for longer during long ageing. It has a powerful aroma from ageing in the bottle that reveals a perfect combination of sugar and acidity. It is also powerful

Tasting Note:
“Straw yellow in colour, with a small, fine, plentiful mousse. The opening aromas are of the ageing on lees,
lightly smoky, with touches of biscuit or bread, which are followed by hints of honey, fruit and flower petals. The palate is excellent, fruity and full of flavour, with dried fruits from the lees ageing, but very elegant

Food Matches: Aperitif / Seafood / Caviar / Smoked Fish
